Variants
Any type of animal with fur
Population
Medium

The people of the land and air. While it is argued that the world was not made with them in mind, Dwellings beg to differ. Their population is centered on the continent of Sunland and they have only expanded their territories and inventions dynasty after dynasty. While the world underwater is satisfied with the past, the dwellings are constantly building better ways to live and find meaning in their place on this world- land or sea.

Details

Origins
Dwellings were made to cultivate the piece of land found on this world during the Heavenly Descent. They were placed on the center of the world. One of them would be named the Golden Emperor and lead the dwellings.
If the seas rage, it is up to the Sunland Emperor to bring peace to the world.
History
Dwellings have worked through the dynasties to explore and cultivate Sunland, as it is the only place truly theirs. While sea emperors provide them with rain and recognition, it is often realized that the Sunland Emperor holds no true power in the grand scheme of things. Some dwellings accept this reality, others feel dejected. Others find comfort that they can elect their own emperor instead of relying on the Heavens.
The discovery of winged dragons created territorial disputes with the dwellings. After years of battles, they have learned to give each other a wide berth to live in harmony.
Most land dwellers stay on land, but those who do not wish to be restricted choose to sail the seas and attempt to live on ungoverned islands. Those who choose crime lay siege to the seas.
Culture
All cultures of Asia are represented in the dwellings.

Species Specific
Merfish Form
Dwellings cannot magically turn into Merfish when they reach water. They need spells to transform them or to let them breathe underwater. Even then, those spells have time limits.
Demons
Cursed or dead dwellings who escape Underworldly punishments. They often have powers in par with Sea Dragons, controlling dark magic. These Dwellings may look ghostly or hellish-like. Specific designs will depend on the culture they hail from.
